Let's have some inspiration from the artist...

Paints, brushes, canvases, some music… and what else?

Seven Steps in Creation

I follow my intuition in my practice; there is never a fixed amount of pigment or a predetermined number of layers. Figures emerge from photographs I have taken, or from books and magazines that inspire my sketches.

Unlike traditional approaches, my sketches are created first in oil. I begin in black and white to capture light. My second sketch of the same subject is in color, focusing on movement, gesture, and emotion alongside light. I often remain in this phase, exploring natural or tinted tones, contrasted with grey-blue hues.

The third phase involves transferring the image onto canvas, depending on whether I choose oil, acrylic, or mixed media. The fourth phase introduces abstraction, where I reinterpret the image on large sheets of paper, often using silk paper.

The fifth phase consists of preparing a cotton base, either through cyanotype or with natural pigments derived from plants, vegetables, or spices, ensuring the surface is completely dry.

The next step involves using sunlight—when strong enough—or UV lamps to transfer the image from paper onto the prepared surface. The exposure time varies depending on the materials and layers used.

In the final stage, I refine the print, often working over the background with acrylic or ink to achieve the desired effect and color.

Each piece is unique, even in print. Colors and effects are never identical. Light and sun interact differently each time. Movement and stillness merge with emotion and color. My paintings, when placed on walls, are not merely objects, but create a serene atmosphere that gently transforms the space into art.
